11Jul2020 - Day 4 of Certified Voice Artist Program. The final module has been discussed: Setting up a Home Studio and the Equipment needed. What a coincidence isn't it? If you'll read one of my 1st posts "The struggle", I have touched the equipment needed before joining the program, and now, on the last day of the Certified Voice Artist Program, the final module was also regarding the equipment.
As you enter the program, equipment are needed and as you enter the real world of voicing, equipment are also of course needed. The voice master once said: "I will make you equipped, but you must have the equipment". He also compared entering the world of voicing into a war, that having a knife in a war full of guns wont make you win.
Microphone - the input, the ears of the listener. Types of microphone: USB microphone, Dynamic broadcast microphone, Large diaphragm condenser microphone.
Other equipment: Speakers (the output). Headphones. Mixing board/console. Computer audio interface. Mic stand. Shock mount spider. Pop filter. Outboard gear.
As a beginner, the microphone that I used was a USB microphone (Audio-technica 2020 USB Cardioid condenser microphone).
At the afternoon session of Day 4, we had an activity - a virtual dubbing were we had to make a fundub of the classic anime Voltes 5 (feel free to visit the Video Page of this website to view the activity :)). The activity was very fun and engaging. Brainstorming with my voicemates was really exciting and enjoyable and I was really amazed on how experienced they are. I really learned a lot in this activity.
Although this may be the last day of the Certified Voice Artist Program, I will say that the Journey to the Real World of Voice Industry is only starting, and this day 11Jul2020, is NOT the last day..
This has been MEVoces... see you on the next post XD.
